Quote 1 :
“I’m too old my son,” he replied. “ I’m too old to start a new life. I’m too old to start from scratch again in a country so far away” (pg. 18)
Analysis:
This quote is saying that he can’t live a better life, because everything that happened was for him. He can’t start over when he already lived through this. What he had seen made him scared and he worried about his life. He is too old to help anyone or start over after he had already grown old and lived through all of it.
This quote just makes me think of everyone who had to live through the holocaust or through war and how tough it had to be on them. Everyone has something major happen in their life but sometimes, it changes who you are because you live in fear afterwards, like how i was whenever my dad committed suicide. It makes every perspective you have toward other people change.

This was an okay analysis :D I dont think we were supposed to start our analysis with "This quote sais.." So you can work on that. But overall, Good Job!
I like how you connected it to something in your life. Like Zuley said try not to start off with "This quote says" :)
It was a very nice analysis but I wouldn't share the infomation about your dad but in the end it was a very good selection of your quote.
