Quote #2 for section 2.

Quote 2:
" Not cry? We're on the threshold of death... soon we shal have crossed over... don't you understand? How could I not cry?" (Pg. 45 Yechiel)

Analysis:
He is pretty much saying that they have no choice anymore, that now, they have to give up. They don't have a chance to get away, that chance or decision was over when they left their homes in the first place. Everyone is going to die and you never know who will be the next to step on the threshold of death. Watching your family die will be hard and your going to break down eventually.

Quote's Section 2

Quote 1:
"We've got to do something. We can't let ourselves be killed. We can't go like beast's to the slaughter. We've got to revolt." (Pg. 40)
Analysis:
Whenever you finally realize something like this, what is really happening and how much different it is from what you were told, it's going to be stressful. They know they were lied to. They were fools for believing that they were being saved. They should have known nothing would get better. They have nowhere to hide now so they might have to think up a plan and do everything they are asked before they are killed and have nothing left to do.
Quote 1 :
“I’m too old my son,” he replied. “ I’m too old to start a new life. I’m too old to start from scratch again in a country so far away” (pg. 18)

Analysis:
This quote is saying that he can’t live a better life, because everything that happened was for him. He can’t start over when he already lived through this. What he had seen made him scared and he worried about his life. He is too old to help anyone or start over after he  had already grown old and lived through all of it.
This quote just makes me think of everyone who had to live through the holocaust or through war and how tough it had to be on them. Everyone has something major happen in their life but sometimes, it changes who you are because you live in fear afterwards, like how i was whenever my dad committed suicide. It makes every perspective you have toward other people change.
